In our aim to help our own Dementia patients and anyone suffering with Dementia we have undergone the training to become Dementia Friends.
Around Rosemary Street Health Centre you will notice additional signs in yellow showing pictures of where we things can be found – these are designed to be easily recognisable by our Dementia patients.
We also have a Quiet Area equipped with memorabilia and information on events specifically provided for people suffering with Dementia in our area.
This was recently opened by Lady Mayor Kate Allsop and attended by our Patient Participation Group and the Alzheimer’s Society as you can see here:

Patients have knitted “Twiddle Mits” which will be given to our Dementia patients on the day, these are a known relief for anxiety which many people with Dementia suffer from and enable them to have a distraction with their hands.
